Liegt vielleicht auch daran, dass ich evtl. /hoffentlich tatsächlich für ein paar kurze Tage hinfahre und mir das Stück anschaue. Angedacht habe ich den 12./13. November...Habe mal locker nach den Preisen für Flug& Hotel geguckt, und dachte, es wäre noch viel teurer...Drückt mir die Daumen, dass es klappt!

The Roundabout production stars Zoe Kazan, Richard Armitage, Alex Hurt, Ben Rosenfield and Amy Ryan.


Performances begin September 22 for the Roundabout Theatre Company production of Love, Love, Love, penned by King Charles III playwright Mike Bartlett. Michael Mayer directs a cast made up of Zoe Kazan (The Seagull), Amy Ryan (A Streetcar Named Desire), Richard Armitage (The Hobbit), Ben Rosenfield (Boardwalk Empire) and Alex Hurt (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof).

An opening night is slated for October 19 at the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre. Performances are scheduled to play through December 18.

Bartlett’s newest play, billed as a “dark comedy,” begins in the swinging sixties in London and spans more than four decades. It examines how the baby boomer generation has grown and adapted, and their place in today’s world.

“It’s the late 1960s in a north London flat, and Henry is excitedly anticipating the arrival of his date, Sandra,” begin Roundabout production notes. “The night changes course when Sandra and Henry’s brother Kenneth quickly realize how much they have in common—their love of Rock and Roll and their love of marijuana, for starters. A fiery relationship is sparked in the haze of the 60s, and charred by today’s brutal realities. Fast forward twenty-three years, and the economy and politics of an ever-changing world are wearing on the marriage of this baby boomer couple. Can they remain faithful to each other while trying to provide a loving and supportive home for their children—children who are growing up in a time when the next generation is not always provided for?”

The creative team includes Derek McLane (sets), Susan Hilferty (costumes), David Lander (lighting) and Kai Harada (sound).

A lost generation of young people who cannot carve a path for themselves within the system. College educated young people who can't find work or a living wage commensurate with their qualifications and are forced to return home. What about those less and even less fortunate? Our play ends with a generation in limbo in England 2011. It's 2016 and things aren't improving.
