Richard III. - Das Projekt

Die Damen von C19 haben Neuigkeiten über RAs derzeitigen Aufenthaltsort sowie seine derzeitige Beschäftigung zu vermelden.

Übrigens stammt das Zitat aus dem C19-Thread "Where in the world is RA" - der "Fred" (danke, vinblanc! ) für Stalker und solche, die es werden wollen ...

Die "next couple of months" dürften wirklich ein wenig hoch gegriffen sein Aber er weiß seine Zeit ja intensiv zu nutzen, wie wir einmal mehr feststellen können ...

Mir scheint es, dass er sein Traum um keinen Preis aufgibt. Und da ja vor kurzer Zeit noch die Ausgrabungen waren, kam es zur richtigen Zeit.
Heißt es nicht so schön: "Was lange wehrt, wird endlich gut!" Oder so ähnlich.

Ich glaube nicht, dass er das ernsthaft verfolgt wenn Hollywood winkt. Eher wird er Bond als das er RIII je verwirklicht.

PS ich würde das so verstehen, dass in den nächsten Monaten ein einziges Treffen (oder ein Telefonat) mit Ms Langley geplant ist, nicht etwas, dass er sich die ganze Zeit damit beschäftigt. Ich nehme dieses Projekt einfach ebensowenig ernst, wie ich Theaterpläne ernstnehme.

Ich glaube jetzt ehrlich nicht, dass wir das beurteilen oder vorhersagen können, schließlich sind wir weder Brancheninsider und wissen um den aktuellen Stand der Dinge, noch haben wir eine Ahnung, wie Richards Pläne aussehen. Jedenfalls scheint es aber ein Herzensprojekt von ihm zu sein, das er schon sehr lange verfolgt und bei dem er am Ball bleibt. Zu wünschen wäre es ihm allemal, dass es klappt!

Wollte RA dieses Projekt nicht als Autor/Regisseur angehen?

Vin, ich glaube, er will schon vor der Kamera stehen und auch mitspielen, sofern es realisiert wird, wenn er noch jung genug ist, um die Rolle zu spielen . Ansonsten hat er glaub ich mal erwähnt, dass er dann die Rolle des Warwick übernehmen müsste oder eben ganz hinter der Kamera.
Am Drehbuch ist er sowieso involviert, wenn wir auch nicht wissen, in welchem Maße. Aber nachdem ganzen Lob über seine Fähigkeiten als Autor könnte ich mir schon vorstellen, dass er da aktiv mitmischt, sofern er die Zeit hat.

Kaffeesatzlesen und ähnliche hellseherische Qualitäten kann ich nicht bieten - ich fand's auch in erster Linie interessant, dass er in UK ist und anscheinend über die Ausgrabungen auf dem laufenden ist. Was sonst noch ansteht, who knows???

Ein längerer Bericht über die Ausgrabungen in Sachen RIII in Leicester mit diversen Interviews, u.a. mit Philippa Langley. Das Durchhalten lohnt sich, da auch die Frage nach einem geeigneten Darsteller angesprochen wird.

A: There’s a certain actor, definitely, he’s my Number One favourite for this part and erm…….you might know him, you might have heard of him…….a certain Leicester boy.

Fans in clamour for actor to become king

Leicestershire actor Richard Armitage has spoken several times about his interest in King Richard III and ideas to tell his story on the big screen or on the stage.

And his own army of fans from all corners of the world are right behind him.

Roswitha Gerhart, who lives in Munich, Germany, has co-launched an online "support network" for a film or theatre production, and more than 1,100 fans have signed up.

Richard Armitage, who most recently played dwarf Thorin Oakenshield in The Hobbit, was named after the last Plantagenet king, and has spoken about his story in many publications – including the Leicester Mercury's More magazine last month.

"It was just as they were finding the Richard III bones in that car park. I'm excited to hear about the findings of this DNA, I've watched with interest.

"Richard III, now that's a play. I was named after him. My father's a historical fanatic about his character and I've inherited that enthusiasm, but I know by the time I get the chance I'll be too old and too tall to play the role.

"I'd somehow like to realise that part of history."

Roswitha, who has been a fan of the actor since seeing him in BBC drama Spooks, said she and other fans wanted to do something to show support.

"For some time, fans had been discussing Mr Armitage's interest in King Richard III on blogs and forums, but without much or any support or interest from the industry," she told the Mercury.

"Another blogger and I got together and we were brainstorming about how to do something to support the idea and Mr Armitage's interest in King Richard III.

"We wanted to call attention to his ideas and show larger audiences that his fans and others supported them.

"We came up with a petition idea. We want to give him some backing to show to investors, to demonstrate people around the world are interested in a film project about King Richard III.

"The interest already is worldwide."

Roswitha said she had been following the search for the bones of Richard III.

"Richard III strongly arouses my sense of fairness and justice," she said.

"In my view, film is the only way to truly show the scale of the subject – the significance of Richard III's grand ambitions and the disastrous defeats.

"I know how hard it is to find backing for ambitious projects – especially when they concern history."
