I've sent the link to Sarah Deane and passed on some of your observations, here's her reply.

I love you guys, you know why? Because you know so much more than I do, it's like having my own private PA office. ;o)

Hadn't seen the trailer (I have now, thanks!). I know it must look like all the spoilers are given out - I think that's the way for all of the episodes but, to be honest, none of the stories are really about linear plots. They are all constructed to make 'ordinary people' like you and I really think about how we would react in certain situations.

I realise that, as fans of Richard, you will be looking at certain things - ie: him - but in the bigger picture, the show is more about asking questions of people, so it doesn't really matter (in my own humble opinion), if the 'story' is revealed, as I'm really, really, hoping that intelligent people like you guys will see beyond the 'tottie' and start giving thought to the issues that are raised. How would we react in a certain situation? Would our own morals stand up to the battering that day-to-day life constantly throws at us?

Sometimes, we need a 'bad angel' to appear to us, to make us face up to our own convictions, or lack of them. That bad angel doesn't need to be real, it just needs to push us into making decisions we wouldn't otherwise make. That is 'John Mulligan's' purpose in this piece.

Forget that it's Richard for a moment and, when you watch the whole thing, try and put yourself in Ellie's position and consider the million dollar question - 'I can't change everyone else's world, but I can change mine. But what is the cost? And is it worth it?'

Sorry if this is sounds a bit deep, but it was my motivation for writing DNW. Only when we are faced with a demon, will we ever know for sure how we will fight him. Though I'm guessing that, to you guys, if the 'demon' looked like Richard, you wouldn't fight him at all, right? ;o)

I think Richard and Christine gave brilliant performances - they have such great chemistry, as you shall see. But try not to watch it purely from the point of view of a Richard fan. Look inside the character, because that's where the drama lies.

Sarah Deane macht einen sehr sympathischen Eindruck! Ihr scheint ja viel an dieser Geschichte zu liegen. (Meine Erwartungen an das Drehbuch steigen damit allerdings auch gewaltig! )

Sie kommt wirklich nett rüber. Danke, Maike. Ich bin mal gespannt, ob es mir gelingt, den Focus auf die Handlung zu legen und nicht nur auf Richard. Bei näherem Nachdenken: Wenn die Handlung gut ist - und da habe ich große Hoffnungen - sollte das klappen. Es ist manchmal zu verführerisch sich zu sehr auf Richards Erscheinen zu freuen. Und außerdem kann man ja den Film ein paarmal gucken um alle Facetten mitzubekommen.

Die Damen von RAnet haben ein Interview mit SD geführt, sehr interessant, aber nix über RA was wir nicht schon wüssten.

Na, ich werde jedenfalls mein Bestes geben, um mich auf die Story zu konzentrieren... nach dem 17. mal schauen ist das eventuell sogar möglich - wenn die erei sich ein wenig unterdrücken lässt .

Hah! das ist toll kann ich absolut nachempfinden, dass sie da im Schlafzimmer hockt und mit RA im Kopf sowas schreibt

Hört sich alles echt super an, toll, dass sie so ne gute Publicity machen, da kommt man ja fast gar nicht dran vorbei Das hört sich nach guter Qualität an, kann mir gut vorstellen, dass das ein Erfolg wird

Naja, bisher sind das Lokalzeitungen aus Liverpool. Für die richtige Publicity ist es noch etwas früh. Ich glaube schon, dass der eine oder andere Kritiker sich das ansieht und dass es eine gute Sache für RA ist, da mitzutun, aber ich glaube nicht, dass das Konzept ein Erfolg wird. Die Geschichten scheinen ziemlich starker Toback zu sein, keine leichte Unterhaltung am Nachmittag, und wenn sie character driven und nicht plot driven sind, wird sich manch einer zu Tode langweilen.

Es wäre doch schlimm, wenn er so leichtes Geplänkel mit einer Nachmittagssoap machte. New Homes from Hell seine Stimme zu leihen ist eine Sache, aber es ist mir lieber, er macht so etwas, wo er sich für weitere gute Rollen empfehlen kann, auch wenn die Sendezeit nicht so der Hit ist.
Was ich halt schade finde ist, dass die Sendungen wohl nicht wiederholt werden, zumindest habe ich bei RT nichts darüber finden können.

Das meinte ich auch nicht. Gott bewahre, dass er so weit kommt, in einer soap mitzuspielen. Die Idee auf diese Weise das Nachmittagsprogramm aufzuwerten ist sicher lobenswert, nur glaube ich nicht, dass um diese Zeit viele Leute einschalten werden, die das zu schätzen wissen.

Sein Bekanntheitsgrad ist aber durch Spooks und RH ziemlich in die Höhe gegangen. Ich stelle mir lieber vor, dass irgendein Produzent oder Regisseur sowas anschaut und dann Richards Agenten kontaktiert.
