The latest so-called celebrity to come on board the “water boarding is torture” bandwagon is some British guy named Richard Armitage. Get this: he’s in a show called Spooks and they filmed a scene of him actually being water boarded for their TV show! Even in the controlled circumstances, he didn’t last more than 5 or 10 seconds before screaming for it to stop.

If this really were torture, first off, he wouldn’t have volunteered to have it done to him. Secondly, the folks who actually did it to him would be breaking the law.

For series seven of Spooks, which began in Britain last week, actor Richard Armitage endured the controversial interrogation technique known as waterboarding. Armitage, who joined the show this season, was subjected to waterboarding during a scene to 'ensure authenticity'. He told Britain's The Times newspaper the experience "really is a form of torture that shouldn't be used". Series seven of Spooks will air on ABC1 next year.

After getting over the shock of seeing Richard's name in an Aussie paper, I realised they assumed people knew who he was. No mention of other shows he's been in. So I was shocked and stunned and pleasantly suprised. ;D
