Epix Renews Spy Series ‘Berlin Station’ For Third Season
by Dominic Patten
December 6, 2017 11:43am

EXCLUSIVE: Just days after Berlin Station had its Season 2 finale, Epix today are giving the Olen Steinhauer-created spy series a third season.

Season 3 of Berlin Station looks set to start streaming on Epix in late 2018 or early 2019, I hear. However, it is not yet set in stone who is returning from the Richard Armitage, Michelle Forbes, Leland Orser, Ashley Judd, Richard Jenkins and Rhys Ifans starring series or if EP Brad Winters will be back as showrunner. With the German capital as its primary backdrop, a Season 3 production start is being penciled in for around spring next year.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to announce this news as we close on a spectacular second season of Berlin Station,” said Jocelyn Diaz, Epix EVP of Original Programming on Wednesday of the CIA drama. “This past season was timely, significant, and almost eerily prescient in its mirroring of real-life events this year, and we are looking forward to working with the talented teams at Paramount TV and Anonymous Content on another installment.”

This is the first series renewal by Epix since Michael Wright took over as President last month. A prestige push by Epix from the get-go, Berlin Station first debuted on October 16, 2016 and its second 10-episode season started on October 15 this year.

“We are so excited to have the opportunity to continue to explore the compelling and timely stories of Berlin Station,” added Paramount TV boss Amy Powell. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with the teams at EPIX and Anonymous Content to bring a powerful third season to our fans.”

In a recent interview with Deadline, a canny EP Winters said he had “fingers crossed” that the political intrigue drenched series would be back for another run. And now it is. Achtung, the game is back on.

Nun bleibt noch abzuwarten, ob wir ein neues Unterforum brauchen. Leland hat es scheinbar spannender gemacht als nötig. :lachen: :lachen: :lachen: :lachen: :lachen: :lachen: :lachen:

TV News Desk Dec. 6, 2017

Premium TV network EPIX®, an MGM company, announced today it has renewed its original spy drama BERLIN STATION for a third season. News of the renewal of the CIA-centric series comes on the heels of the second season finale, which aired Sunday, December 3 at 9 P.M. ET/PT on EPIX.

"We couldn't be more thrilled to announce this news as we close on a spectacular second season of Berlin Station," said Jocelyn Diaz, Executive Vice President of Original Programming at EPIX. "This past season was timely, significant, and almost eerily prescient in its mirroring of real-life events this year, and we are looking forward to working with the talented teams at Paramount TV and Anonymous Content on another installment."

"We are so excited to have the opportunity to continue to explore the compelling and timely stories of Berlin Station," said Amy Powell, President of Paramount TV. "We look forward to continuing our partnership with the teams at EPIX and Anonymous Content to bring a powerful third season to our fans."

The second season of BERLIN STATION starred Richard Armitage as Daniel Miller, Richard Jenkins as Steven Frost, Michelle Forbes as Valerie Edwards, Rhys Ifans as Hector DeJean, Leland Orser as Robert Kirsch, Ashley Judd as BB Yates and Keke Palmer as April Lewis, all on a race against time to uncover a conspiracy involving the rise of the Far Right movement sweeping across continental Europe.

The series was created and executive produced by Olen Steinhauer (author: The Tourist, All The Old Knives, The Cairo Affair), with Bradford Winters (Dig, The Americans, Boss, Oz) serving as executive producer and showrunner. Academy Award® winner Eric Roth (Forrest Gump, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, House of Cards), along with Steve Golin, Kerry Kohansky-Roberts, Keith Redmon and Luke Rivett from Anonymous Content (True Detective, The Knick, Mr. Robot) also executive produced. The series is produced by Paramount Television and Anonymous Content.

Berlin Station is part of a growing slate of scripted originals on EPIX, which also includes season two of the comedy series Graves, from Lionsgate and currently airing Sundays at 10 P.M. ET/PT, as well as the upcoming event series The Truth About the HARRY Quebert Affair which stars Patrick Dempsey and season two of the critically-acclaimed comedy Get Shorty, both from MGM Television and slated to premiere in 2018.<

:sigh: ;) :irre:

The spies will keep on spying over at EPIX.

The premium network announced today that Berlin Station has been renewed for a third season. News of the renewal comes just days after the second season finale aired on Sunday. The series follows a group of Berlin-stationed spies as they maneuver identities and work assets on an often-international level.

The drama stars Richard Armitage, Richard Jenkins, Michelle Forbes, Rhys Ifans, Leland Orser and, new additions for the second season, Ashley Judd and Keke Palmer.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to announce this news as we close on a spectacular second season of Berlin Station,” said Jocelyn Diaz, EPIX's Executive Vice President of Original Programming. “This past season was timely, significant, and almost eerily prescient in its mirroring of real-life events this year, and we are looking forward to working with the talented teams at Paramount TV and Anonymous Content on another installment.”

“We are so excited to have the opportunity to continue to explore the compelling and timely stories of Berlin Station,” said Amy Powell, Paramount TV President. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with the teams at EPIX and Anonymous Content to bring a powerful third season to our fans.”

Berlin Station's first and second seasons are available on EPIX.
