Castlevania is getting a third season on Netflix, Digital Spy can exclusively reveal.
Originally launching last year with four episodes, a second season of eight parts has already been ordered.
But while we're still waiting on an official release date for season two, work on a third run of episodes is about to get underway.
"We're about to record a third," revealed Richard Armitage, who voices the character Trevor Belmont. "The second season hasn't been aired yet, but we're about to do a third."
Digital Spy reached out to Netflix, but the streaming service had no official comment to make on the show's renewal.
As if news of a third season weren't exciting enough, Armitage also dropped some hints about what fans can expect from the second batch of episodes, expected to drop on the streaming service this summer.
"The son of Dracula [Adrian Tepes, voiced by James Callis] and my character get much more collaborative," he revealed. "I think that's one of the most exciting things, they start to really work together."
Inspired by the popular video game series, Netflix's Castlevania is the first screen adaptation after a planned movie ended up stuck in development hell.
Armitage, though, told us he'd love to see a live-action version happen.
"I love my character in Castlevania... he's this anti-heroic, drunk, slightly foul-mouthed, irritable git!
"I feel like it would make the most brilliant live-action piece. It's slightly anarchic and humorous – we don't often see vampire heroics in that vein. One day, maybe."
