I'm thrilled to announce the cast for next season's production of Mike Bartlett’s Love, Love, Love, directed by Michael Mayer. Please join me in welcoming Richard Armitage, Alex Hurt, Zoe Kazan, Ben Rosenfield, and Amy Ryan to the Roundabout stage.

Amy is a Roundabout alum, having appeared in Uncle Vanya (also under the direction of Michael Mayer), Three Sisters, The Women, and A Streetcar Named Desire, and receiving Tony nominations for her performances in both Uncle Vanya and A Streetcar Named Desire. The rest of the cast will be joining us for the first time; they bring exceptional film, television, and theatre credits with them.

I’m honored to have this phenomenal cast bringing the US premiere of Mike Bartlett’s play to life. It’s a demanding play for actors, and I know this cast – especially under the expert direction of Michael Mayer – is more than up to the task.

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) is thrilled to announce the complete cast of Mike Bartlett's (King Charles III) new play, Love, Love Love, directed by Michael Mayer. The cast includes Richard Armitage (The Hobbit), Alex Hurt (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof), Zoe Kazan (The Seagull), Ben Rosenfield ("Boardwalk Empire") and two-time Tony nominee Amy Ryan ("The Office," A Streetcar Named Desire). The production is part of Roundabout's 50th Anniversary Season.

Love, Love, Love begins preview performances on September 22, 2016 and opens officially on October 19, 2016 at the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre. This is a limited engagement Off-Broadway through December 18, 2016.

It's the late 1960s in a north London flat, and Henry is excitedly anticipating the arrival of his date, Sandra. The night changes course when Sandra and Henry's brother Kenneth quickly realize how much they have in common-their love of Rock and Roll and their love of marijuana, for starters. A fiery relationship is sparked in the haze of the 60s, and charred by today's brutal realities. Fast forward twenty-three years, and the economy and politics of an ever-changing world are wearing on the marriage of this baby boomer couple. Can they remain faithful to each other while trying to provide a loving and supportive home for their children-children who are growing up in a time when the next generation is not always provided for? Spanning more than four decades, this dark comedy is the story of what happens when the free-loving teens of the 60s face the harsh realities of today's world. From passion to paranoia, Love, Love, Love takes on the baby boomer generation as it retires, and finds it full of trouble.

Roundabout welcomes Mike Bartlett following the critically acclaimed and celebrated Broadway debut of his play King Charles III. Tony Award-winning stage, film and opera director Michael Mayer returns to Roundabout to direct his sixth production (Uncle Vanya, The Lion in Winter). Mayer previously directed Amy Ryan in Uncle Vanya at Roundabout. She also appeared in RTC's production of A Streetcar Named Desire and was Tony-nominated for both performances.

The creative team includes Derek McLane (sets), Susan Hilferty (costumes), David Lander (lighting) and Kai Harada (sound).

Richard Armitage, Amy Ryan & More Set for Mike Bartlett's Love, Love, Love Off-Broadway

Stage and screen alums Richard Armitage, Amy Ryan and Alex Hurt will star in the off-Broadway premiere of Love, Love, Love. The play, written by King Charles III’s Mike Bartlett and directed by Tony winner Michael Mayer, will begin performances at the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre on September 22. The Roundabout production will open officially on October 19 and run through December 18.

The London-set play weaves through four decades to tell the story of Kenneth (Armitage) and Sandra (Ryan), who connect over their love for marijuana and rock (amongst other things) when Sandra goes on a date with Kenneth’s brother Henry (Hurt) in the late 1960s. Some 23 years later, the two baby boomers struggle to maintain the bonds of marriage and parenthood.

Armitage has appeared on screen in film trilogy The Hobbit as Thorin, as well as Hannibal, Alice Through the Looking Glass, In to the Storm and Captain America: The First Avenger. He received an Olivier nomination last year for The Crucible.

Ryan earned Tony nominations for her performances in Uncle Vanya and A Streetcar Named Desire. Her additional credits include The Women, The Three Sisters, The Sisters Rosensweig on stage and Central Intelligence, Bridge of Spies, Louder than Bombs, Birdman and The Office on screen.

Hurt’s previous stage credits include Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Dada Woof Papa Hot, Placebo, Scenes from a Marriage, The Caucasian Chalk Circle and Unrequited.

In addition to Armitage, Ryan and Hurt, the cast will include Emmy nominee Zoe Kazan (Olive Kitteridge) as Rose and Ben Rosenfield (Indignation) as Jamie. The production will feature sets by Derek McLane, costumes by Susan Hilferty, lighting design by David Lander and sound design by Kai Harada.
