Hannibal is on the run in Season 3
Rebecca Hyland
Fannibals rejoice, Hannibal season 3 will begin on June 4th, 2015 and all reports suggest it is going to be a thrilling ride!
With Dr Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) and Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier (Gillian Anderson) safe from capture in Italy, season 3 will provide opportunities for a closer look at these two killers' histories.
Star Trek star Zachary Quinto to star in Hannibal
Heroes, American Horror Story and 'Star Trek' favorite Zachary Quinto has been confirmed as a guest star for season 3 of Hannibal.
Quinto will feature in two episodes of the series and will play a former patient of Dr. Du Maurier. This guest starring turn should help viewers discover more about the intriguing doctor and will give Quinto another chance to show off his bone-chilling acting chops.
Season 3 to be a Mixture of Hannibal Rising and Red Dragon
Hannibal approves of Fuller's choices
Fans of the suspenseful book series by Thomas Harris on which the series is based, will be interested to note that series creator Bryan Fuller has suggested season 3 will combine aspects of Hannibal Rising (2006) and Red Dragon (1981), while also having some unexpected developments.
Straying from the books, Fuller has developed a new origin story for the famous cannibal, which Hannibal viewers can look forward to discovering in this upcoming season.
Originally planning on creating seven season of the series, Fuller has now suggested six will suffice for the content he plans to cover. Season 4 will most likely follow Red Dragon more closely and then Fuller hopes to be able to continue on and cover plotlines from The Silence of the Lambs, if MGM (who own the rights) allow it.
Tooth Fairy to Be Revealed
Hobbit star Richard Armitage to star in Hannibal
Fans of the books may have been wondering when this crucial character from Red Dragon would surface. Well, the wait is over....
Fuller has confirmed that the 'Tooth Fairy' has already had an off-screen cameo, when he was behind the unsolved murder of a woman in the opening scene of the first episode of season 1 and we now know that he will be starring in the upcoming season.
Francis Dolarhyde, known as the 'Tooth Fairy' given his predilection for biting his victims corpses and his other oral fixations, will be played by The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey star Richard Armitage and will feature in six episodes of season 3. It is rumored that these will be the final six episodes of the season, so expect to see the 'Tooth Fairy' pop up in episode 8 this Summer.
Hannibal will enjoy delicious meals in Italy
Given the Italian themed episode titles that have been released, such as 'Antipasto' as the title for episode one of season three, we can expect to see Hannibal and Dr Du Maurier gallivanting around the Italian countryside.
Fuller suggested last year that season 3 would begin with seven episodes that focus on the new life being lived by the pair will on the run from the authorities. This FBI-light beginning will allow the creators to stick more closely to the books and will help develop the storylines for the rest of the season.
It will pick up a year after the terribly bloody events of season 2's finale and will show the development of Hannibal into an even more terrifying killing machine.
Who Will Die In Season Three?
Hannibal and Inspector Pazzi
After seeing how bloody Hannibal can get, and how easy it for fan favorites to be brutally killed off unexpectedly, Fannibals are left wondering who will fail to survive season 3.
Fortunato Cerlino (seen above with Mads Mikkelsen) has been cast as Inspector Pazzi for season 3, a character from the novel Hannibal that many fans believe may not make it through the season.
Others believe Fredricka "Freddie" Lounds could be the next to go, but hope that Lara Jean Chorostecki's character survives at least a little longer.
Who do you think will die in season 3 of Hannibal? What do you think is in store for Dr Lecter, Bedelia and Will Graham?
