'Hannibal' season 3 spoilers and news: Richard Armitage and Rutina Wesley join cast in second half

"Hannibal" fans booed for a long time when NBC announced that its mildly spiced dish would be served on June 4, 2015. That would make the agonizing wait of season three since season two's finale more than a year.

However, that means there are heaps of spoilers floating online and some can even satiate a fan's appetite till Dr. Lecter and Will Graham return on screen. Apart from the release date, Digital Spy reports that the season is divided into two parts, one will feature seven episodes and the other will have six episodes. The first half of season three will deal with the aftermath of season two's finale and also chronicle Hannibal's adventure with Bedelia in Florence, Italy. The setting of the show changes to Italy and it is widely speculated that Graham will caichardtch Hannibal in episode seven, thanks to the assistance of Dr. Chilton who will prove to be instrumental in catching him.

The second half will see Lecter behind bars, but Graham will need the troubled and gruesome doctor's help when the Tooth Fairy emerges in episode eight. Played by actor Richard Armitage, Francis Dolarhyde earns his eerie name the Tooth fairy because he bites his victims. Furthermore, "True Blood" actress Rutina Wesley will essay the role of his blind love interest.

Episode eight will also have a time-jump into several years and follows the plot of Harris' "Red Dragon". Moreover, Graham will also learn of Lecter's childhood through his aunt, Lady Murasaki's handmaiden Chiyoh. Instead of showing the Lady, the show will tell her tale and Lecter's through Chiyoh's conversations with Graham.

Another Digital Spy report suggests that Guillermo del Toro will not be directing season three. Moreover, Joe Anderson will replace Michael Pitt as the psychotic Mason Verger. The mid-season time-jump will also see Graham married to a woman named Molly who helps him overcome his dark past. Additionally, it is unclear which characters survived the bloodbath of season two. Mark June 4 for a scrumptious meal with "Hannibal" and watch Graham catch Lecter.

Hannibal Season 3 is looking to be a great season of the show, but how will the characters be developed and will they depart from the books?



The third season of Hannibal is right around the corner, and that means it’s time to start wondering who is going to step up this season and be a major player.

It’s not a deep list of characters, but there is plenty of room for pivotal people to step up in major roles and change things around in a big way.

Obviously, this all starts with Hannibal as he’s the titular character on the show. But will he play the most prominent role or will he take a backseat to a new antagonist in the form of the Tooth Fairy? The introduction of Francis Dolarhyde on Hannibal was notable for this season, as the Red Dragon storyline is very clearly going to be played out.
Will Francis usurp Hannibal as the main villain on the series?
It’s possible, but it might require Hannibal to be captured again. That’s big, because it would work Will Graham back into the story when it appears he’s being temporarily phased out.
It’s not Will’s fault that he’s being phased out and it’s not a reflection of the performance by Hugh Dancy either. Hannibal is a show where no one is safe and we could see brutal demonstrations of that in the upcoming asides of the show.
What we could also see is a departure from the books, in that there are characters who go in a slightly different route than what we saw in the movies and books that preceded the series.
It’s all up in the air, but one thing is certain — Hannibal Season 3 is going to be one of the defining seasons of the show and a lot rides on how these characters get developed.

ATX Festival Adds ‘Hannibal,’ More ‘Dawson’s Creek’ & ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’

Even more television is heading down to Austin, Texas, this summer for the fourth annual ATX Festival on June 4-7.

Panels for NBC’s “Hannibal” with creator Bryan Fuller and Fox’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” with creator Dan Goor and cast members have been added to the festival, along with a “cancelled too soon” panel for Amy Sherman Palladino’s former ABC Family series “Bunheads.”

USA Network’s upcoming drama “Complications” will kick off the fest with an opening-night premiere, featuring creator and exec producer Matt Nix and the series’ cast members.

ATX will also feature the season-five premiere screening of USA Networks’ “Suits,” a 25-year anniversary screening of Marta Kauffman’s HBO series “Dream On” and a “Dawson’s Creek” pilot script reading, presented by creator Kevin Williamson and surprise guests.

Also Thursday, ATX’s co-exec directors and founders Caitlin McFarland and Emily Gipson announced James L. Brooks as the recipient of the second annual Achievement in Television Excellence Award. (Last year’s award was given to Henry Winkler.)

“As a continuation of our commitment to honoring the history of television at the festival, we are humbled and incredibly grateful that the legendary James L. Brooks has agreed to accept our second annual Achievement in Television Excellence Award,” said McFarland and Gipson, who will be presenting Brooks with the award. “With a career spanning 50 years, Mr. Brooks has created some of the most memorable programs on television, from ‘Mary Tyler Moore,’ to ‘Taxi’ and ‘The Simpsons,’ making him just as much a part of where television has come from as where it’s going.”

Brooks will also take part in a career-spanning conversation, hosted by Phil Rosenthal, and will participate in a panel on the history of “The Simpsons” with producers and writers Al Jean, Matt Selman and David Silverman.

The “Hannibal” panel will feature the premiere screening, a sneak peek of episode two of the new season and a discussion with Fuller. “Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s” panel will feature Goor, along with stars Stephanie Beatriz and Melissa Fumero. More cast members may be announced at a later time. “Bunheads'” panel, hosted by Palladino, will welcome cast members Kelly Bishop, Stacey Oristano and Sutton Foster, who’s currently starring in TV Land’s “Younger,” for a screening and discussion.

Thursday’s added ATX programming joins previously announced panels for “Boomtown,” “Girl Meets World,” “Drunk History,” “The Fosters,” “Gilmore Girls,” “Journeyman,” “Justified,” “Playing House,” “Power,” “Queer as Folk,” “Wayward Pines” and the “Dawson’s Creek” writers room reunion.

NBC holt die blutige TV-Serie „Hannibal“ am 4. Juni 2015 mit Staffel 3 zurück ins Programm. Nach dem grausamen Cliffhanger warten die Fans bereits sehnsüchtig auf die neuen Episoden. Neben der Frage, welche Charaktere das Massaker überlebt haben, wird dann auch endlich geklärt, was die Zukunft für Hannibal Lecter bringt. Kann ihn Will Graham jetzt zur Strecke bringen? Und was hat es mit der tödlichen „Zahnfee“ auf sich, die sich in die Reihen der Bösen mischt?

„Mizumono“, der Titel der finalen Episode von „Hannibal“ Staffel 2, liegt mittlerweile fast acht Monate zurück und wir haben Hunger nach mehr! Unruhig und sehr gespannt blicken wir Richtung Sommer. Nachdem der Start der 3. Staffel verschoben wurde, steht der Ausstrahlungstermin mittlerweile fest: Am 4. Juni 2015 wetzt Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) ein weiteres Mal die Messer. Wir müssen uns also noch einige Wochen gedulden, bevor wir endlich erfahren, was nach dem dramatischen Cliffhanger von „Mizumono“ mit den Charakteren passiert ist. Wer hat das Massaker überlebt, das sich Lecters Haus abgespielt und zahlreiche Hauptcharaktere dem Tod näher gebracht hat? Wir haben die Antwort schon jetzt für euch und verraten euch, was uns in den neuen Folgen erwartet.

Diese Charaktere haben das Finale überlebt

In der 3. Staffel „Hannibal“ gibt es definitiv ein Wiedersehen mit Will Graham (Hugh Dancy), Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne) und Alana Bloom (Caroline Dhavernas). Sie haben die grausamen Geschehnisse in Lecters Haus überlebt. Weniger Glück hatte Abigail Hobbs (Kacey Rohl). Nachdem sie in der 1. Staffel nur knapp dem Tod entkommen ist, holte er sie im Finale der 2. Staffel endgültig ein. Sie ist der einzige Charakter, der das Finale nicht überlebt hat. In der Zwischenzeit konnte sich Hannibal Lecter (Mikkelsen) gemeinsam mit seiner Psychiaterin Bedelia Du Maurier (Gillian Anderson) absetzen; beiden ist die Flucht nach Europa gelungen, bevor die Jagd auf den Kannibalen offiziell eröffnet werden konnte. Glaubt man den Berichten von “TV Line”, drehen sich die ersten sieben Episoden der 3. Staffel um das Leben von Hannibal und Bedelia in ihrer neuen (wechselnden?) Wahlheimat und Wills Versuch, dem Mörder auf die Schliche zu kommen.

Zeitsprung und neuer Bösewicht ab Folge 8

Vorsicht: Der folgende Text enthält Spoiler! Mit Episode 8 soll schließlich alles anders werden: Ein Zeitsprung bringt neue Gesichter mit sich. Nach einer (unter den Fans vermuteten) Inhaftierung von Hannibal Lecter, scheint das Leben von Will Graham langsam wieder normale Züge anzunehmen. In seiner Ehefrau Molly hat er einen Menschen gefunden, der ihm die nötige Stabilisierung gibt, die ihm stets gefehlt hat. Das alles scheint mit einem Mal in Gefahr, als ein neuer Serienmörder Amerika terrorisiert. Während Lecter im Gefängnis sitzt, tötet die sogenannte „Zahnfee“ (im Original: The Tooth Fairy) unschuldige Familien. Wer mit dem Roman oder der Verfilmung von Thomas Harris’ Geschichte „Roter Drache“ vertraut ist, weiß, dass hinter dem Killer ein gequälter, wahnsinniger Charakter namens Francis Dolarhyde steckt. Die Fans können es kaum erwarten

Dank seinem Erfolg durch die Trilogie “Der Hobbit”, freuen sich die Fans vor allem auf Armitage als Neuzugang in der 3. Staffel “Hannibal”. “Hannibal” Staffel 3: Richard Armitage twittert vom Set

Die Vorfreude auf die 3. Staffel „Hannibal“ wächst mit jedem Tag. Neben einem Wiedersehen mit Mads Mikkelsen und Hugh Dancy, dürfen sich die Fans auch auf den ersten Auftritt von Richard Armitage als Francis Dolarhyde freuen. Der „Hobbit“-Star hält die Fans dank Twitter immer auf dem Laufenden.

Hollywood hat Richard Armitage spätestens seit seiner Hauptrolle in „Der Hobbit“ auf dem Schirm – Serienfans haben womöglich schon seit „North & South“ (2004) ein Auge auf den attraktiven Briten geworfen. Für Bryan Fuller darf Armitage in der 3. Staffel „Hannibal“ in die Rolle des Serienkillers Francis „Tooth Fairy“ Dolarhyde schlüpfen. Ein Charakter aus Thomas Harris Romanen, der bereits in dem Kinofilm „Roter Drache“ einen großen Auftritt hatte und es jetzt auch in die NBC-Serie geschafft hat. Voraussichtlich in der zweiten Hälfte der 3. Season (Start: 4. Juni 2015) werden wir Armitage zum ersten Mal auf dem Bildschirm als gequälter Killer sehen. Zum Glück müssen wir nicht so lange warten, um schon ein paar Eindrücke vom Set zu bekommen.
Es funkt vor der Kamera

Der 43-Jährige hält die Fans immer wieder am Laufenden und teilt Eindrücke vom „Hannibal“-Set, dank denen sich unsere Vorfreude längst nicht mehr in Worte fassen lässt. Vor ein paar Tagen informierte er seine Follower, dass bereits die letzten Drehtage angebrochen wären; Armitages Zeit am “Hannibal”-Set neigt sich also schon wieder dem Ende zu. (Ob wir seinen Charakter auch in einer 4. Staffel sehen könnten, ist bisher nicht klar, da eine weitere “Hannibal”-Season noch nicht bestätigt wurde.) Am 11. April schwärmte Richard Armitage ganz offen über Kollegin Rutina Wesley (“True Blood”), die in den neuen “Hannibal”-Episoden die blinde Reba McClane spielen wird, in die sich Dolarhyde verliebt. “4.30 Uhr nach 14 Stunden vor der Kamera, dieses Mädchen ist erstaunlich”, schwärmt er über Rutina. Bereits im März nannte er sie ganz begeistert “coole Katze”. Die Chemie der beiden vor der Kamera scheint also definitiv zu stimmen – und wir freuen uns jetzt erst recht auf Juni und das Serien-Comeback, auf das wir schon sehnsüchtig warten. One of the many casualties in "Hannibal" season 3 has been recently named.

According to latest rumors, it looks like tabloid reporter Freddy Lounds will suffer a horrible death in the hands of the Tooth Fairy. As reports claimed, Will Graham will use Lounds to his advantage, but his move proves to be a huge mistake as it will cost him the reporter's life.

"Graham allows for an interview and decides to say some disparaging remarks about Dolarhyde's manhood in his profile in the hopes that he'll act out and make a mistake. Unfortunately, what this results in is Dolarhyde killing Freddy Lounds in a rather dramatic fashion. It made for one of the most memorable moments of Michael Mann's Manhunter adaptation," Movie Pilot reported.

The article further discussed the "two halves" of "Hannibal" season 3, where Graham retires from the FBI and starts his own family in the second half. However, when the Tooth Fairy comes along, Graham will be forced to end his retirement, and work with an incarcerated Hannibal to catch the elusive Tooth Fairy.

"Hannibal" season 3 episode 1 synopsis reveal a very intriguing plot for some major characters of the hit TV series.

The synopsis for the first episode of the upcoming run was recently divulged by Latino Post.

"The dark and haunting series 'Hannibal' returns for a third season, revealing the fates of characters hanging in the balance and their continuing psychological cat-and-mouse games," the synopsis read.

"After the shocking events of the season finale, Hannibal (Mads Mikkelsen) is on the run in Europe - accompanied by his psychiatrist Bedelia Du Maurier (Gillian Anderson) - sporting a new identity but servicing the same insatiable appetite. Several Cast Members Of 'Hannibal' To Attend ATX Festival Which Will Kick Off On The Same Day As Their

"Hannibal" season 3 premiere episode will not arrive until June 4. That means around two months of withdrawal for fans. This means Mads Mikkelsen, who plays the title role, and Hugh Dancy who plays Will Graham, won't be seen television until first week of the six month of year.

For fans wanting to see them together with other cast members, attending the ATX festival might be a good idea to offset the pain of waiting for the "Hannibal" season 3 premiere. Series creator Bryan Fuller and the still unannounced lineup of cast members will at the festival together with other shows like "Dawsons Creek", "Suits", "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" and more. The thing is, the festival will kick off on the same day as the NBC TV series will air its pilot episode.

The second half's big bad will be Richard Armitage's Francis Dolarhyde, a serial killer who has great admiration of Dr. Hannibal Lecter.
