Der Roboter erinnert mich stark an den Terminator. Und die Musik ist Gewöhnungsbedürftig not my cup of tea.

Der Kurzfilm von Oliver Daly wird nun als Langversion verfilmt. Die Beschreibungen im Netz schwanken zwischen Motor-Cross-Film (immerhin kein Boxfilm ) und "a contemporary nod to Steven Spielberg's classic E.T., about blurring the boundaries of humanity".

David Goyer Partners With Lakeshore, Open Road on Robot Movie ‘Miles’

Lakeshore Entertainment and Open Road Films are partnering to co-produce and co-finance the film “Miles,” which will be directed by Oliver Daly.

Filmmaker David S. Goyer, best known for his work on the “Dark Knight” trilogy, is producing through his Phantom Four company. Goyer won rights last year to Daly’s original short about an 18-year-old and a military robot.

The film will be produced by Lakeshore’s Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi, with Phantom Four’s Goyer and Kevin Turen. Principal photography will begin in late summer for an anticipated 2017 release.

“Miles” centers on an 18-year-old searching for a way out of his small California town. He stumbles upon M.A.X., an escaped prototype of an advanced robot, and finds himself in an unlikely friendship. He soon becomes the target of a massive manhunt that puts him and everyone he cares about in danger.

Daly raised funds for the short through a 2014 Kickstarter campaign.

Open Road Films will release “Miles” domestically and in certain international territories together with its output partners. Open Road’s international distributors include Sony (Eastern Europe, Canada, Greece, India, Latin America, Scandinavia, Spain, Middle East and Turkey), Telepool (Germany), Village Roadshow (Australia), eOne (U.K. and Benelux), Impuls (Switzerland), Ster Kinekor (South Africa) and Lev Films (Israel).

FilmNation Entertainment handles Open Road’s international distribution territories. Other international territories will be sold by Lakeshore International at the upcoming Cannes market.

Motocross Film 'Miles' Lands U.S. Home With Open Road

Oliver Daly will direct the project, which is based on his original short film that is set in California’s teenage off-roading motocross world.

Open Road Films will be partnering with Lakeshore Entertainment to co-produce and co-finance Miles.

Oliver Daly will direct the project, which is based on his original short film that is set in California’s off-roading motocross world and centers on teenager Miles, whose life is altered by a chance encounter with cutting-edge military technology.

Open Road will release the film domestically and in certain international territories with distribution partners, all of which will be handled through FilmNation.

Open Road's partners include Sony (Eastern Europe, Canada, Greece, India, Latin America, Scandinavia, Spain, Middle East and Turkey), Telepool (Germany), Village Roadshow (Australia), eOne (the U.K. and Benelux), Impuls (Switzerland), Ster Kinekor (South Africa) and Lev Films (Israel).

Lakeshore’s Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi will produce the film, along with Phantom Four’s David S. Goyer and Kevin Turen.

"Miles is a wildly innovative project with a top-notch filmmaking team behind it," Open Road Films CEO Tom Ortenberg said in a statement. "We are thrilled to partner with Lakeshore, David Goyer and everyone at Phantom Four to bring this movie to audiences around the country."

Vom Roboter "Max" (ich glaub sowas hat er auch noch nicht gemacht ala Cumberbatch/Smaug), bis böser Militärboss oder Papa vom Teeny usw.

Ich hatte auch die Vermutung, habe meinem 7. Sinn aber nicht so geglaubt.

Obwohl er nun schon zum 3. Mal richtig war. Würde er doch auch bei den Lottozahlen so gut sein.

Seine Twitterfollows ( von Regisseuren etc.) sind da oft sehr aufschlussreich.. Berlin Station war aufgrund der vielen Follows auch ein Spekulationsvolltreffer!

That battle was won by David S. Goyer and his Phantom Four Films, which developed the script with Daly. Open Road will now release the film domestically; the pic is currently casting with principal photography to begin late summer for an anticipated 2017 release.

Ich kenne auch keinen Schauspieler, das sind wohl alles Darsteller der jungen Motocrosser.

Ihr habt recht, der Stoff wird RA gefallen haben und SciFi hat er noch nicht gemacht. Gedreht wird aber in USA, nicht in good ol' Europe

Laut imdb wird der Film auch in UK gedreht.

Allerdings sind da so viele Locations aufgelistet, dass ich meine Hand dafür nicht ins Feuer lege.


Die Rolle wird ein netter kleiner Einschub vor dem Beginn der Dreharbeiten für Berlin Station Staffel 2 sein.
