Oh Mann neee! Lieber was eigenes!

Zitat:
Hugh Jackman comments on potential X-Men/Avengers crossover with Disney/Fox merger
By Kervyn Cloete
Posted on December 13, 2017

We have a longtime reader and member of our community here on Critical Hit who’s a great guy. “One of the top 5 nicest people you’ll ever meet,” as he famously once put it himself. As nice as this guy is though, he has one painful flaw: He hates Logan. Like, super hates it. However, as the rest of us with better taste know, Hugh Jackman’s bloody swan song as the X-Men berserker Wolverine was a tour de force of cinema. Which is a pity that it had to take so many years before Jackman was allowed to finally do the famous comic book character justice. Because of this, many fans have been hoping that the 49-year old actor would reconsider hanging up his claws, especially in the light of some major recent developments.

With a deal between Disney and Fox for the House of Mouse to take over the latter’s movie and TV properties, there’s a real possibility that the X-Men will finally get introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and that includes a Wolverine. I say “a Wolverine” and not “this Wolverine” because despite some wild rumours popping up on AICN – which then got picked up by several publications – Jackman told Collider that doesn’t see himself slicing and dicing alongside Captain American and the rest of the Avengers anymore.

It’s interesting because for the whole 17 years I kept thinking that would be so great, like I would love to see, particularly, Iron Man and the Hulk and Wolverine together. And every time I saw an Avengers movie I could just see Wolverine in the middle of all of them like punching them all on the head. But it was like, “Oh well, that’s not gonna happen,” and it was interesting just when I first saw that headline — it was just the possibility of it and who knows what’s gonna happen, obviously — I was like, “Hang on!” But I think, unfortunately, the ship has sailed for me, but for someone else I would like to see Wolverine in there.

Jackman went on to explain that if an Avengers/X-Men crossover had been “on the table when I made my decision [to stop playing Wolverine], it certainly would have made me pause. That’s for sure,” but now it was time to give another actor a go. As for who that other actor could be, we may have found a contender in, well, another Wolverine. Last week we heard the unexpected news (via Mashable) that Marvel would be releasing a Wolverine podcast. Titled Wolverine: The Long Night, this 10-episode scripted podcast series will debut in early 2018 and is set in a fictional Alaskan town in which two FBI Agents investigate a string of murders in which Logan is their main suspect. Providing the voice of Logan for this old-time radio play podcast will be The Hobbit and Hannibal actor Richard Armitage. And I’ll be damned if he’s not a great pick to continue Jackman’s work.

Just looking at some pics of Armitage and Jackman, it’s very hard to deny the physical similarities between the two actors. Yes, Armitage would need to bulk up on the muscle, but that’s nothing some crazy eating plan and a workout routine that will half-kill you won’t fix. Armitage has previously had another brush with comic book superstardom as he was on the director Zack Snyder’s shortlist to play Batman in Batman v Superman, though he eventually lost that role to Ben Affleck. I’m not so sure how suited he was for the Dark Knight, but I’m certain he would be able to give us that feral Wolverine we love so much. The problem though is that at 46-years old, he’s nipping at Jackman’s “retirement” heels already.

Of course, all of this may be moot as this is just wild speculation on my part. We still have absolutely zero idea how the Disney/Fox deal will shake out and what the states of the respective cinematic universe will be after the merger. However, a fan can dream.

Zitat:
5 Actors Rumored To Be The New Wolverine (And 10 Who Could Do It Better)

04.26.2018
by Mathew Stevens

It appears that audiences witnessed the final curtain call for Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine last year with Logan. That probably would have been the end for a long while until Disney threw us a curve ball and acquired 20th Century Fox. That means the X-Men characters, including Wolverine, are now under the ownership of Disney, meaning they’re fair play for the Marvel Cinematic Universe going forward. Of course, it will probably be a while before we see any X-Men characters pop up in the MCU since this deal was fairly recent. It also hasn’t quite been finalized and Marvel Studios is known for planning pretty far ahead.

No matter what, though, we’ll eventually see Wolverine and the X-Men come back to the big screen again. It’s just inevitable. He’s as iconic a superhero as Batman or Spider-Man, and we’ve seen multiple actors interpret those characters in a short span of years, so Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine isn’t sacred either. A handful of names have already been tossed around the rumor mill, but we know of at least 10 actors who could do it better than anyone rumored to take over the adamantium claws. Here are five rumored actors to be the new Wolverine (and 10 people who could do it better!)

15. RUMORED: TOM HARDY

Tom Hardy is kind of Hollywood’s It-Guy right now. He’s rumored for just about every juicy acting role that gets announced, including James Bond, and yes, Wolverine. He’s proven his mettle in dramatic parts with his breakout role as Eames in Inception, or as Charles Bronson in Bronson and Ivan Locke in Locke.

However, he’s also proven he can be a bona fide action hero in films like Mad Max: Fury Road, and he’s no stranger to comic book movies playing Bane in The Dark Knight Rises and Eddie Brock in the upcoming Venom. He kind of seems like the perfect choice, should he be available. The only real roadblock would be the long-term commitment that joining the MCU would involve, but that would be the case for any actor.

14. RUMORED: SCOTT EASTWOOD

Recently, in an interview with Screenrant, Scott Eastwood confirmed that he would 100% love to play Wolverine on the big-screen saying, “He’s a renegade, a loose cannon, the kind of character that I love.” He’s built up a solid resume of action-packed and dramatic roles, including big budget flicks like the upcoming Pacific Rim: Uprising and The Fate of the Furious, but he’s also no stranger to the comic book world.

Aside from being a huge fan of Wolverine, he recently had a role in Suicide Squad as Lieutenant GQ Edwards. He’s also one of the names fans are most clamoring for to get the role. If this wasn’t enough to convince you, Hugh Jackman has actually gone on record to say that Scott’s father, Clint Eastwood, was a big inspiration for how he approached the character.

13. RUMORED: TRAVIS FIMMEL

Travis Fimmel has developed a huge following thanks to his role as Ragnar Lothbrok on the History Channel’s Vikings, but he has yet to really make that breakthrough into movie stardom. He had the starring role in 2016’s Warcraft: The Beginning, which underperformed both critically and financially, so he’s still looking for the kind of role that will turn him into a household name.

Despite not being a name as big as Hugh Jackman, he seems to find his way onto nearly every list of possible new actors for Wolverine, thanks to the rage and emotion that we’ve seen in equal measure on Vikings, so there’s no doubt that the Marvel Studios casting department has his name and number in a file somewhere for audition time.

12. RUMORED: DAFNE KEEN

Dafne Keen, who played X-23, a clone made from Wolverine’s DNA in Logan, has been a rumored replacement for Hugh Jackman ever since he announced he would be leaving the part, and rumors only got more intense when audiences saw how awesome her character was in the movie. This solution works on a few levels. For one thing, it’s a brand new character, so we don’t have to worry about that “Yeah, but I can only see Hugh Jackman in the role” problem.

For another thing, she’s only 13, so Marvel Studios could hold off on introducing her for as long as they want and she could still play the part for years. Really, the only major problem with this casting is that we’d get a Wolverine, but we still wouldn’t get a Logan, a James Howlett, the character we’ve known and loved for decades.

11. RUMORED: HUGH JACKMAN

Oh, Hugh Jackman. Why must you toy with our fragile emotions so? First, he told us that his last appearance as Wolverine would be in Logan. Then he said that he would be open to playing the character again if he rejoined the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Then, when 21st Century Fox was purchased by Disney, he doubled back and said that he was definitely done with the character.

Now rumors have been stirred up again that Jackman will pick up the adamantium claws for the MCU thanks to Bucky Barnes himself, Sebastian Stan. He claimed that in a recent conversation he’d asked Jackman if he’d see him again soon. Apparently, he told Stan “a couple things,” which Stan remained tight-lipped about, saying he might get in trouble with some people if he talked further.

10. BETTER: JAI COURTNEY

Jai Courtney has been popping up in a lot of major action franchises lately. From Eric in the Divergent series to Kyle Reese in Terminator: Genisys, John McClane’s son in A Good Day to Die Hard, and of course as Captain Boomerang in Suicide Squad. At this point, he’s proven his ability to play the slightly unhinged tough guy with a bad attitude, and that’s Wolverine through and through.

He’s got the attitude down, he has a gruff enough voice for the part, he has the right physique (other than not being 5’3″) and he’s even got the look and facial hair down for the part. Not only is he another popular choice for Wolverine among a lot of fans, but he’s a fellow Aussie-born actor, just like Hugh Jackman.

9. BETTER: ANSON MOUNT

Anson Mount got his breakout role as Cullen Bohannon in AMC’s western drama Hell on Wheels, but more recently he took the lead role as King Black Bolt in Marvel’s Inhumans. This might be an issue for some people, but Inhumans didn’t do all that well with critics or fans, and it only ran for eight episodes, so it would be a shame to waste Anson Mount’s acting talent on one failed experiment.

Anson Mount has the ability to act with just facial expressions, he’s capable of the kind of rage that Wolverine needs, and he has the gruff voice that the character is known for. At 45-years-old, he’s one of the oldest actors on this list, but Wolverine has always been the oldest guy in the group, and Old Man Logan is the coolest version of the character anyway.

8. BETTER: LUKE EVANS

Luke Evans is already a pretty high-profile actor, although he hasn’t yet taken a role that has made him an iconic one. He’s played those similar dangerous roles like Dracula in Dracula Untold, Gaston in Beauty and the Beast, Owen Shaw in the Fast and the Furious series, and if that wasn’t good enough, he even already played the voice of Wolverine for an episode of Robot Chicken.

If they’re bringing Wolverine into the MCU, then it’s a safe bet they’ll want a proven talent that can bring the character to life the same way Hugh Jackman did for over a decade. If that’s the case, Luke Evans is without a shadow of a doubt one of the safest bets they could make in that particular regard.

7. BETTER: AIDAN TURNER

Aidan Turner hasn’t really become a household name yet, although fans of Being Human already know that he’d be an excellent candidate for Wolverine. He showed off his dramatic acting chops as Ross Poldark in Poldark, and he’s even performed in big budget productions as Kili in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit trilogy.

Aidan Turner is currently a star on the rise, which is the perfect position to be in to take the role of Wolverine. He’s currently at the top of the list for the next James Bond after Daniel Craig leaves the role, but given the choice between the two, Wolverine would probably be the more reliable and profitable job. James Bond is iconic, but the series doesn’t have the same solid track record as the MCU.

6. BETTER: SCOTT CAAN

The son of the legendary actor James Caan, Scott Caan is a favorite as the new potential Wolverine for a lot of reasons, but one of the big reasons is that at 5’5″, Scott Caan is the closest in height to the actual comic book Wolverine who stands at only 5’3″. Hugh Jackman is 6’2″, as are most of the names thrown around as the next Wolverine, and most of the Avengers are pretty tall as well.

Maye it’s time that short guys actually get an awesome hero that they can relate to, and Wolverine is already written to be the short guy who’s nearly unbeatable. Scott Caan has proven his dramatic chops, and he has the kind of comedic timing that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is known for.

5. BETTER: JASON MOMOA

Aquaman as the new Wolverine? Yeah, we’ll admit the odds aren’t good unless the DCEU completely falls apart and WB starts over from scratch, which despite their missteps is unlikely to happen. But just think about a world where Jason Momoa hadn’t been cast as Aquaman. If you had to cast that guy as any superhero, who would be the first one to come to mind? Wolverine, of course!

Also, is there really a reason that he can’t play a character in both universes? Josh Brolin is playing Thanos and Cable, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje was in Suicide Squad and Thor: The Dark World. There’s no real reason that Jason Momoa couldn’t fill both roles if both studios were willing to do some creative scheduling.

4. BETTER: TAYLOR KITSCH

We know what you’re thinking. The guy who fans and critics alike hated so much as Gambit, and you want to give him Wolverine too?! Well, let’s be fair here. X-Men Origins: Wolverine was almost 10 years ago now, and since then, Taylor Kitsch has more than proven he has the ability to act when given a good script to work with. With roles in critically acclaimed works like True Detective, Waco, and Lone Survivor, we think he’s more than made up for his five-minute stint as Gambit.

That’s not even to mention that, with the extra decade on him, he looks like a way better fit for Wolverine these days than he ever did for Gambit. At 37-years-old, he’s older than Hugh Jackman was when he took the part but young enough that he could continue the role in the MCU for some time.

3. BETTER: JENSEN ACKLES

Jensen Ackles is most well-known for his role as Dean Winchester on Supernatural, but as it will soon be entering its 14th season, the show can presumably go on for only so much longer before Ackles and his co-star Jared Padalecki need to find new major roles to take. Padalecki has also had his name thrown around a lot for the new Wolverine, but at 6’4″, he’s just a bit too tall for the part.

Jensen Ackles isn’t exactly short at 6’1″, but he’s got the gruff voice down, the angry demeanor, and he’s put the kind of berserker rage that Wolverine is known for on display many times throughout the course of Supernatural. At 41, he’s also not too old to continue with the part for a long time to come.

2. BETTER: CHARLIE HUNNAM

Charlie Hunnam is another popular choice to replace Hugh Jackman as the next Wolverine. His name gets thrown around a lot for the role, and now that Sons of Anarchy has ended, the actor has struggled to find a suitable film or television role to keep his name in the news, but that’s not for any lack of acting capability.

He’s taken on heroic roles like King Arthur in Arthur: Legend of the Sword, he’s played the dramatic and the deadly as Jax Teller in Sons of Anarchy, and he’s performed well in big budget Hollywood films like Pacific Rim. He’s definitely got the physique to play Wolverine already, he just might need to dye his hair a bit darker and he’ll be the very picture of comic book Wolverine.
1. BETTER: RICHARD ARMITAGE

Richard Armitage is a phenomenal actor with distinguished roles from Guy of Gisborne in Robin Hood to Thorin Oakenshield in The Hobbit: Trilogy. It’s hard to ignore the fact that he has a very Hugh Jackman look about him, he has a great physique for the part, and he’s even already playing the part of Wolverine in the upcoming podcast Wolverine: The Long Night, so you can be sure that he definitely has the voice for the role.

Wolverine: The Long Night is an official Marvel production so it could even be considered a testing ground to gauge audience’s reaction to Richard Armitage in the role. At 46 years old, he’s only three years younger than Hugh Jackman, so it wouldn’t be as long-term as some of the other choices, but what a ride those few years would be!

Spekulationen um ein O8-Sequal rund um Debbie Ocean und Claude Becker:

Zitat:
How Ocean’s 8 Sets Up An Inevitable Sequel
17 hours ago
by Alexandra August in CBR Exclusives Comment

Ocean’s 8 introduces audiences to another set of glamorous thieves that make us rethink the straight and narrow. Not only do they pull off the theft of a $150 million Cartier necklace from the Met Gala and frame someone else for the crime, they also manage to steal a boatload of other valuable pieces from the museum (with a little help from an old film). With the film on track for a $40 million-plus box office heist in its opening weekend, odds are Sandra Bullock’s Debbie Ocean will be getting the gang back together for a sequel.

After all, the titles Ocean’s 9 and Ocean’s 10 are still up for grabs. But what might a sequel look like? Ocean’s 8 lays the groundwork for a few potential follow-ups.

A Revenge Tale

Ocean’s 12 was Terry Benedict’s revenge tale, and Ocean’s 8 opens itself up to using that premise as well, should it so choose. Debbie Ocean’s victory leaves a few downed targets in its wake, not the least of which is her ex-boyfriend, feckless art dealer Claude Becker (Richard Armitage). She frames him for the job and sends him to prison in return for his betrayal years earlier. He’s not the type to take personal responsibility, so he’s a prime candidate for an irrational revenge story.

Unfortunately for him, as villains go, Becker is pretty unexciting, and no one’s rooting for him to come back anytime soon. But there was one other victim of Ocean’s theft: the mysterious Russian who lent the Met all the other necklaces the team stole. The Ocean’s franchise loves a theatrical villain, and who better to fit that bill than a justifiably disgruntled Russian jewel collector?

A Weak Link

Ocean’s 8 pulled off two pretty capital twists: the extra loot, and Daphne Kluger’s (Anne Hathaway) surprise participation job. The self-centered starlet had been clocking the team’s moves (and mistakes) since the beginning and forced them to let her join the action once she realized what they had done. It’s understandable – we’d totally blackmail Cate Blanchett if it meant we got to hang out with her on a semi-regular basis.

However, as team members go, an international movie star probably isn’t the safest bet. Kruger’s inexperience, combined with her ego, makes her a prime candidate to cause trouble in the future. We wouldn’t put it past her to brag about her part in the scheme or try to organize another one out of sheer boredom. She’s wealthy, demanding and has way too much time and money on her hands — a bit like Terry Benedict in that respect, and just as entertaining.

Danny Ocean

While Ocean’s 8 did feature a few cameos from the original trilogy (the George Clooney original, that is), they didn’t tickle our nostalgia bones as much as, say, a certain brother would have. But the film makes it pretty clear from the jump that this is Debbie Ocean’s show now, because her brother died tragically young. After getting settled in New York, Debbie visits her brother’s grave and pays her respects, only to be met by Elliot Gould’s Reuben Tishkoff, who assures her Danny wouldn’t have wanted her to go through with whatever it is she’s planning. At the end, she visits the grave once more and shares a martini with her departed sibling. It’s sweet and touching, and probably bullshit.

While Clooney was wisely kept away from this project to avoid stealing focus from the newest team of elite thieves, that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be fun to see him pair up with his sister. The writers wink at this possibility a few different times, when Debbie herself admits she’s not 100 percent convinced her brother’s actually dead. She whispers to his headstone, “You’d better be in there,” and when Constance (Awkwafina) asks if she’s sure he’s dead, Debbie coyly responds, “No.” We’re probably getting a little ahead of ourselves, but the continuous and pointed references to Ocean’s death feel like more than a red herring — at least we hope so.

Directed by Gary Ross, Ocean’s 8 stars Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Anne Hathaway, Awkwafina, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter and James Corden.

James Bond und kein Ende:

Zitat:
Who will be the new James Bond?

By Will Salmon 4 days agoNews

Daniel Craig may be back for Bond 25, but he won't play James Bond forever. In fact, this will probably be his last outing as 007, so it's sadly time to start looking for a new James Bond. With former Bond Pierce Brosnan recently suggesting Tom Hardy (“You need an actor who can put a bit of wiggle into it — that’s what makes Bond,” he told The Mail on Sunday’s Event Magazine), we've come up with a list of our top contenders for the new James Bond. From Idris Elba and Gillian Anderson, to Damien Lewis and Michael Fassbender, take your pick and let us know who you want to play the new James Bond in the comments section below.

Henry Cavill

The current Superman is an obvious choice. He auditioned for the role at the same time as Daniel Craig, and Casino Royale director Martin Campbell has stated that he approved of his Bond, despite the fact that Cavill was just 22 at the time. And have you seen him in The Man from UNCLE? If that's not a Bond look, I don't know what is. I can easily imagine him playing up Bond's charm in a Pierce Brosnan fashion. He wants the role too, so keep an eye on this one, though goodness knows what that would mean for the DCEU.

Damien Lewis

Damien Lewis is the current frontrunner, if you believe the tabloids. Put him in a tux and he instantly looks like a classic Connery-style Bond. An actor of dazzling intensity, his role as Brody in Homeland proved that he can play the espionage game with the best of them. He would, however, be a very different sort of Bond to Craig, lither and arguably more elegant. Maybe it's time for that change, but would that appeal to fans of Craig's more rugged, bulldozer approach?

Idris Elba

The longer this discussion goes on, the more people want Idris Elba to play Bond it seems. No doubt, it’s time for a non-white Bond to step into the spotlight, and the Luther star certainly has the characteristics needed to play 007 - good looks, an impressive physique, and charm to spare. After Prometheus and the Thor franchise, he's got a credible Hollywood career to support his casting too, and his name even came up in the infamous Sony leaks as someone who could possibly take over the role. Former 007 Pierce Brosnan has championed him, but Elba has been modest about his chances so far.

Jon Hamm

We'll be honest, we can't see this one happening, but wouldn't it be wonderful? The Mad Men star is a master of subtly portraying the disquiet beneath the surface of his matinee idol good looks. He already looks like a super-spy, and it's very easy to imagine him sitting behind the wheel of an Aston Martin. But would audiences take to an American Bond? Perhaps if the series embraced the long-standing fan theory (seemingly debunked by Skyfall) that James Bond is just as much a codename as 007.

Gillian Anderson

The Gillian-Anderson-for-Bond team has been gaining momentum in recent months and why not? There’s nothing to say that 007 can’t be a woman. Sure, the character is traditionally misogynistic and testosterone-driven, but these aren’t things that can't be adapted or changed for a more modern Bond. Plus, Gillian Anderson would make a great Bond. She’s already had plenty of practice wearing a suit and kicking-ass as Agent Scully in The X-Files and anyone who’s watched her stare down fellow agent Mulder knows she can keep her cool. Still not convinced? Watch this fan-made trailer.

Michael Fassbender

File under: it'll never happen, but wouldn't that have been nice? Anyone who has seen X-Men: First Class can't have failed to have notice that Fassbender played the young Magneto as, essentially, a Nazi-hunting Sean Connery Bond. He's sharp, slick, deadly and devastatingly handsome, so why won't it be him? Well, for a start, his career is stratospheric right now. He's the star of two big franchises in the form of the current X-Men movies and whatever the Prometheus/Alien: Covenant franchise is now. He definitely doesn’t need Bond to make him a star; then again, it's a tough role to turn down.

Richard Armitage

Before The Hobbit trilogy, Armitage was best known for Spooks and the BBC's muddled Robin Hood, where he played Guy of Gisborne. Appearances on The Vicar of Dibley further cemented his status as a telly hunk, but perhaps that was all. But then Dwarf King Thorin Oakenshield came along and gave his career a big old boost (ironic, given the character's diminutive stature). Bond would be another serious step up in his career, but he's more than capable of making the leap, as he proved in Hannibal as Francis Dolarhyde - another versatile performance. An outside choice, perhaps, but I think he'd be a good one.

Tom Hardy

Remember when Tom Hardy was just the villain from the really bad Star Trek: The Next Generation flick, Nemesis? Well, those days are long gone. Now one of the most acclaimed and bankable young actors in the world, his impressive performance as both Ronnie and Reggie Kray in Legend, not to mention is more understated yet superb turn in Mad Max: Fury Road, has proven what an incredible talent he is. And Brosnan thinks it would be a good idea too (he clearly can't make his mind up!), telling The Mail on Sunday’s Event Magazine: “I think Tom Hardy could be a good Bond. I’d be happy to see him do it.” As with Fassbender, however, it might be an odd move at this point. Bond tends to define careers, and Hardy is doing a good job at carving out his own eccentric niche as it is. Still, he looks good in a suit.

Jamie Bell

Now this is a weird one, but rumour has it that Fantastic Four’s Jamie Bell has been talking to producers about playing Bond so into the pot he goes. I can’t say I’m convinced to be honest, especially after that mediocre performance in the absolutely horrific Fantastic Four reboot, but Bell did start out with an award-winning performance in Billy Elliot as a kid, so we know he’s got acting chops. He might actually just be what the producers are looking for as someone who isn’t hugely well-known yet. Can I see him as 007 though? Not really.

Tom Hiddleston

Welcome to the it’s-looking-very-likely entree in the form of Tom Hiddleston. Unlike Jamie Bell, we know for sure he’s been talking to Bond producers, and as a British actor of the right age who looks good in a suit, he’s in a pretty decent position to take over a Bond. Yes, it’s actually that easy. He’s a big enough name to draw in the crowds thanks to the MCU, and his more recent performances in High-Rise and Crimson Peak prove he’s got the depth to do something more than play Thor’s evil little brother for eternity (don’t forget he also played a hotelier turned spy in the superb The Night Manager). More importantly, he’s at the point in his career where making a sidestep into Bond territory would be good for him. What’s that Tom? You already have an Aston Martin on standby?

Ich bin diese ewige Besetzungsgeschichte inzwischen leid, fand aber den Kommentar von Servetus sehr erfrischend:

They'll start the film with Damien Lewis but he will bail at the last minute and so they'll take Richard Armitage. (joke)

Nicht wahr. Sie hat mich heute, an einem sorgenvollen Tag, aufgeheitert. (Und dabei hat sie derzeit auch keine leichte Zeit.)
