Mike Ogden is still in Italy doing pre-production work and will be returning home on Wednesday, October 28.

He popped into the chat on the Charlie forum unexpectedly yesterday and answered a few questions. Here is a mini-summary:

Mike started out by saying he "had a very good day. Found the majority of the locations." He is also "meeting extra crew, computer graphics people." Mike said that the "crew are great" and there will be about 80 crew members 45 locations throughout the filming.

When asked about the script and whether or not it is still undergoing changes, Mike said, "the script is the outline of the story which is always evolving." Another forum member asked if the script undergoes alterations as new cast is brought on and Mike answered, "they (the actors) must fit the script but we adjust as it is." Mike said the Director of Photography, Nic Sadler, also has input on the script. "It's a collaboration. Nic has brought a lot to this project."

When we broke the news to him that Spooks is airing November 4, he said he will be tuning in!

Thanks to those of you who were able to make the Q&A chat with Mike Ogden in the Charlie Film Board forum last night! We know that not everyone could come of course, so here is an abbreviated version of the summary. The entire thing can be found on the Charlie forum.


Mike told us that Richard is a "definite" cast member: "we are working with Richard still. Richard will be available and wants to do it." Mike said he is in direct contact with RA and when they last spoke, "RA was fine but knackered as he's filming in 40 degrees heat. He’s a trouper. … And he encouraged me not to give up."

One member asked Mike if he knew that Richard likes vodka, and Mike said, "No, I didn’t. I’m sure he’ll like the grappa then."

Mike said that Richard may speak some Italian in his role as Charlie. A forum member asked, "Is there any romance in the film?" to which Mike responded, "Yes there is a wee bit of romance."

Mike feels confident that Richard will be used for the DVD extras. "I am sure he’d like to." Mike later said, "I am sure there’ll be some funny out takes."

"Still" as cast member? "Not to give up" - so hundertprozentig hört sich das für mich immer noch nicht an!

Yesterday the director Mike Ogden, of the upcoming movie "Charlie", was in Paris in a one-day-trip. He goes back to England today. He wrote, on a chat session at the movie official forum, that he talked to Lara about the movie and she is very inspiring and encouraging. He said he thinks things went well and he is happy about it. He will meet Richard Armitage next week. A new chat session with questions and answers is on his next plans.

Mike opened the chat with a big announcement: Filming has been postponed until summer due to Richard Armitage's schedule and the finance timing. This means that Richard is still on for playing the role.

Mike said that Richard Armitage, Lara Fabian and composer Kurt Bestor are all still aboard. In answer to a question whether or not Richard's character will be "ugly," Mike answered, "It's a very physical role so think about that in relation to his look. But he will be ugly in other ways." Mike also said that the role will be physically draining for Richard and he may lose weight for the role.

For research, Richard is reading a lot. Mike said that yes, he thinks Richard is a method actor when asked by a member. Mike also believes that Richard will garner more male fans from this film.

Mike said that he and Richard Armitage "spoke at length on the phone. Richard is still very keen to play Charlie but just coming off of his new show (Strike Back) he needs a break. I expect to meet with him in the new year. You have to realize that Richard is very professional and committed. He's incredibly focused." Mike added that Richard is looking forward to filming in Italy.
