Ich muss allerdings ehrlich zugeben, daß Twitter für mich totales Neuland ist und ich immer noch nicht ganz kapiere, wie das funktioniert...

Oha, es geht ja tatsächlich schon mächtig rund in Sachen Filmprojekt... muss gleich mal schauen, wer dieser ominöse Twitterer ist . Ich finde -auch wenn ich immer noch für eine richtig romantische Rolle für RA plädiere- es hört sich sehr vielversprechend an und RA bekommt hoffentlich die Gelegenheit, zu zeigen, daß er nicht nur ein Heartthrob ist (wobei wir schmachten ja, egal was er spielt.. ).

Die Mods des AA Forums sagen, dass der RA auf twitter nicht unser RA ist. Es hat ihn wohl jemand gefragt. (also können wir aufhören uns zu fragen, wer Claire ist)Hätte mich auch sehr gewundert. RA hatte mal eine Seite bei friends reunited, über die alte Schulkameraden etc. ihn wiederfinden konnten, aber die wurde bald nach N&S gelöscht, vermutlich um zu verhindern, dass Fans ihn auf diese Weise kontaktieren. Ich bin sicher, er weiß genau, dass er nicht wie jeder andere im Internet unterwegs sein kann, es sei denn, total anonym.

Mike Odges dagegen scheint vom Interesse der army begeistert zu sein!

I've tried very hard to be somewhat accurate with how it was during 1943/44 in Italy. Done A LOT of research :-)

which is why I am not tampering with historical facts. The characters are fictional.

I got the idea from a photo taken by Robert Capa. Some moments in the film are based on actual events.

Historisch akkurat hat doch schon mal was für sich....

On October 1, 1943, Capa entered a decimated Naples with the Allied forces. The next day he photographed the funeral of 20 teenage partisans who had taken up arms in the days preceding the Allies’ arrival. The funeral took place in a school; a teacher had been the boys’ leader. Capa focused on the faces of the black-clad women mourners, and the intensity of this image is so great that we almost hear their wails. Most striking about the photo is its ability to convey not the abstraction of grief, but the specific, variegated ways in which it shows itself.

In the foreground are three women, their black hair pulled away from their faces, their hands knotted together more in torment than in prayer, their faces contorted with pain. One woman epitomizes grief as utter desolation: the wide stretch of her open, sobbing mouth tells us she will never again know comfort. Next to her is a woman holding a photo of a partisan, probably her son; her mouth, opened in a round O, suggests not just sorrow but anger and disbelief too. Beside her stands another mourner; but this one does not cry. Her eyes squeeze into slits, her mouth stretches tight into a sneer of pure rage. Here is the avenging angel of death, the JeanAméry of Naples, for whom forgiveness will be not just an impossibility but an eternal sin. Capa later wrote of these photos:

I entered the school and was met by the sweet, sickly smell of flowers and the dead. In the room were twenty primitive coffins, not well enough covered with flowers and too small to hide the dirty little feet of children—children old enough to fight the Germans and be killed, but just a little too old to fit in children’s coffins. . . . These children’s feet were my real welcome to Europe, I who had been born there. . . . I took off my hat and got out my camera. I pointed the lens at the faces of the prostrated women . . . Those were my truest pictures of victory.

EDIT: MO hat auf twitter bestätigt, dass es sich um dieses Bild handelt. Damit kennen wir wohl das Ende der Geschichte. Leicht verdaulich hört sich das wirklich nicht an.

Time / Life reporter Will Lang Jr. was no more than 300 feet from the explosion when it occurred. The shockwave threw him to the ground. The impact sprained his right arm. LIFE photographer Robert Capa and Acme News photographer Charles Cortebegan taking pictures of the shattered Post Office and the carnage lying in the streets. One of the physicians on hand was Brigadier General Edgar Humewhose office was across the street from the post office. After the investigation was completed, it was discovered that a time bomb planted by the Nazis six days beforehand was the root cause of the explosion. 100 people, including women, children and members of the 82nd Airborne Division died as the result of the explosion. The unit was commanded by General Matthew B. Ridgway .
