Richard sieht zwar auch mit Bart gut aus. Er ist für mich einer der wenigen Männer, die einen tragen können. ABER ich möchte auch liebend gerne ihn mal wieder OHNE Bart haben/sehen. Bartlos gefällt er mir doch noch am besten

Actress Chloe Grace Moretz researches for 'Brain on Fire' at VGH

Brain on Fire, the movie adaptation of journalist Susannah Cahalan’s acclaimed memoir, is currently filming in Vancouver with Chloe Grace Moretz (Kickass) in the starring role.

Cahalan’s book, a New York Times bestseller in 2013, detailed her experience with Anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis, an autoimmune disease that caused the young New York Post reporter to suffer severe psychotic episodes.

The illness nearly resulted in Cahalan being committed to a psychiatric ward.

Moretz, who grabbed the lead in the movie after Dakota Fanning pulled out last month, did some research for the role at Vancouver General Hospital on Tuesday.


Moretz also filmed her 2014 feature, If I Stay, in Vancouver.

Vancouver's Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix) and British actor Richard Armitage (The Hobbit) have also joined the cast of Brain on Fire. They’ll play Cahalan’s parents.

Gerard Barrett is directing, while Charlize Theron serves as one of the film’s producers.

Brain on Fire will be released in 2016.

Chloe Grace Moretz nearly hit by cab on ‘Brain on Fire’ set; Carrie-Anne Moss, Richard Armitage to portray as Chloe’ parents

Eighteen year old actress Chloe Grace Moretz (Carrie, If I Stay) is almost keeping it real on the set of "Brain on Fire" as she is seen to be nearly hit by a yellow cab. Meanwhile, Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix) and Richard Armitage (Captain America) will join the cast of the book adaptation as Moretz' parents.


Production for "Brain on Fire" has been underway in Vancouver, Canada. According to Just Jared, during the shoot of the true to life story film last Friday afternoon, it was made to appear that Moretz was almost run over by a taxi while crossing a busy street.

The said scene is part of Moretz's role as Susannah Cahalan, a New York Post journalist who starts hearing voices in her head and experiences seizures. She eventually feels insane as weeks went by. Mysteriously, Susannah becomes violent and turns into a mentally abnormal person. She goes through several misdiagnoses and a long stay at the hospital until a doctor finally finds a cure to her situation which gives her hope to start her life again.

The story is based on the 2012 book Brain on Fire: My Month of Madness written by Susannah Cahalan herself which was met with positive feedback from critics. Deadline reports that Carrie-Anne Moss and Richard Armitage will play as Moretz' parents Rhona Nack and Tom Cahalan. Charlize Theron meanwhile will be one of the producers of the movie.

According to Variety, Charlize Theron has been working on the story since last year. The actress, together with A.J. Dix and Beth Kono of Denver and Delilah, Rob Merilees and Lindsay Macadam of Foundation Features is partnering with Broadway Green Pictures who is also producing and financing the new film.

"Brain on Fire" will be released next year, another book-adapted movie that seeks to inspire viewers.

Wer weiß, wer weiß ?! Tom Hanks wurde schließlich auch gesichtet- und Alan Rickmann hat TC auch mindestens viermal gesehen- um nur einige zu nennen!
Das hat schon große Wellen gezogen!

Ich sehe hier im Moment in 1. Linie auch eine "Anhäufung" irischer Regisseure... Wenn dann noch "Bridget Cleary" umgesetzt wird, sind die irischen Strippen schon dreifach...

Tyler Perry is to co-star in the new film "Brain on Fire."
LOS ANGELES, July 20 (UPI) -- Tyler Perry has landed a role in the big-screen adaptation of Susannah Cahalan's best-selling book Brain on Fire: My Month of Madness.

Broad Green Pictures, in partnership with Denver & Delilah and Foundation Features, announced the casting news Monday.

To be directed by Gerard Barrett, the film is shooting in Vancouver with an anticipated release in 2016.

Previously announced members of the acting ensemble include Chloë Grace Moretz, Thomas Mann, Jenny Slate, Richard Armitage and Carrie-Anne Moss.

"Moretz plays Susannah, a rising journalist at the New York Post, who falls victim to an inexplicable illness that has her hearing voices, hallucinating, battling bouts of paranoia and lashing out during violent episodes," a synopsis said. "As weeks go by and Cahalan rapidly descends into insanity, there seems to be no hope for answers until a lucky, last-minute intervention by one doctor gives her a diagnosis and the chance to rebuild her life. Perry will play Richard, Susannah's boss at the New York Post."

Broad Green Pictures will distribute Brain on Fire in the United States, while the studio's partner, Mister Smith Entertainment, will continue to sell international rights after having introduced the project at the European Film Market in February.
