Dass denke ich auch! Er nutzt seine Fähigkeit unterzutauchen, aber unser Filmfreak lässt sich doch sicher nicht nehmen, den ein oder anderen Film anzusehen, wenn er schon vor Ort ist.

Das bedeutet ja aber nicht zwangsläufig, dass er sich den ganz großen Trubel gibt. Die Berlinale läuft doch ein paar Tage. Er könnte sogar mehrmals Filme anschauen gehen. Ich könnte mir das gut vorstellen.

Das Grand Hyatt liegt unmittelbar gegenüber vom Berlinale Palast.

Es gibt so ein breites, weit über die Stadt verstreutes Programm, so dass Richard auch ohne Tarnkappe ganz ungestört Filme gucken kann.

So, es geht weiter mit den Doppelmeldungen zu 'Brain of Fire' und 'Pilgrimage' und die weltweite Vermarktung beider Filme nimmt dabei Formen an:

Irish Abroad: Abbolita Films acquire international rights to Brain on Fire and Pilgrimage

Variety is reporting that Abbolita Films has acquired multi-territory rights to a number of XYZ Films titles, including Gerard Barrett’s Brain on Fire and Brendan Muldowney’s Pilgrimage.

The two companies agreed a strategic partnership earlier this year at Cannes, which sees Abbolita gaining distribution rights for Turkey, Portugal, Greece, Israel, South Africa, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Hong Kong and the Philippines

Brain On Fire follows a rising journalist who mysteriously starts having seizures and hearing voices. As weeks go by, she moves inexplicably from violence to catatonia — but a last-minute intervention by one doctor finally gives her a diagnosis and hope to rebuild her life. Chloë Grace Moretz stars in the lead, alongside Tyler Perry, Richard Armitage, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jenny Slate, and Thomas Mann.

Brain On Fire is produced by Charlize Theron, Beth Kono, and A.J. Dix for Denver & Delilah Films, Rob Merilees and Lindsay Macadam for Foundation Features, and Gabriel and Daniel Hammond for Broad Green Pictures. Barrett is also attached as co-producer. Broad Green act as distributors in the US.

Pilgrimage follows a small group of monks who begin a reluctant pilgrimage across an island torn between centuries of tribal warfare and the growing power of Norman invaders. Escorting their monastery’s holiest relic – a rock used in the martyrdom of St. Mathias, the thirteenth apostle – to Rome, the monks’ progress is seen through the eyes of a pious young novice and a mute lay-brother with a violent past.

The film had a seven-week shoot, with filming on Ireland’s west coast and in the Ardennes region of Belgium. The script comes from Jamie Hannigan, with Muldowney’s Love Eternal cinematographer Tom Comerford returning. Pilgrimage is an Irish/Belgian co-production with Conor Barry and John Keville of Dublin-based Savage Productions and Benoit Roland of Wrong Men North as producers. Financing comes from the Irish Film Board, Creative Europe, Broadcasting Authority Of Ireland, Wallimages, and the Wallonia Cultural Fund. XYZ Films is executive producing and will represent the film’s U.S. rights with WME.

Other titles in the latest deal include Yann Demange’s Belfast set drama ’71 and Jeremy Saulnier’s eagerly anticipated Green Room.

Toronto: Abbolita Ramps Up Slate with ‘Green Room,’ ‘Brain on Fire’

Abbolita Films has ramped up its nascent distribution partnership with XYZ Films, acquiring multiterritory rights to “Green Room,” “Brain on Fire,” “’71” and “Pilgrimage,” Variety has learned exclusively.

Abbolita and XYZ launched the alliance at Cannes, involving acquisition and distribution of films in Turkey, Portugal, Greece, Israel, South Africa, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Hong Kong and the Philippines.

“Green Room,” which debuted at the Directors’ Fortnight in Cannes, is directed by Jeremy Saulnier and stars Patrick Stewart as the leader of a white supremacist gang along with Anton Yelchin and Imogen Poots. The film was acquired from WestEnd, and will be the opening night film at this year’s Toronto Film Festival’s Midnight Madness.

“Brain on Fire” stars Chloe Grace Moretz, Thomas Mann and Jenny Slate and is currently in production in Vancouver. The film will be released in partnership with Broad Green Pictures, which will distribute it in the U.S.

Yann Demange’s “’71,” which premiered in competition at the Berlin Film Festival, stars Jack O’Connell as a young British soldier accidentally abandoned by his unit following a riot on the streets of Belfast in 1971.

“Pilgrimage” recently wrapped production in Ireland and Belgium. The pic stars Tom Holland, Jon Bernthal and Richard Armitage in the story of 13th century monks on a perilous journey to escort their monastery’s holiest relic to Rome.

Abbolita, headed by Tim Nye, was one of the financiers and exec producers of Kevin Smith’s “Yoga Hosers,” starring Johnny Depp; “Life After Beth,” with Aubrey Plaza and Dane DeHaan; and “Life of Crime,” starring Jennifer Aniston.

XYZ is currently handling sales for Toa Fraser’s political thriller “6 Days,” starring Jamie Bell, Mark Strong and Abbie Cornish, currently in post-production.
