Have you been watching Berlin Station on EPIX? The spy drama, which stars Richard Armitage as CIA agent Daniel Miller, concludes its initial season this Sunday with its season finale, “Oratorio Berlin.”
Daniel (Richard Armitage) leads the Berlin Station crew in piecing together evidence that will illuminate Langley’s role in the Iosava rendition. Meanwhile, Hector (Rhys Ifans) takes a new approach to atoning for bad behavior. As the episode draws to a close and the truth comes into focus, the Shaw mantle is passed.
In an exclusive to Parade, some of the lead actors reveal their thoughts about their characters’ state of mind going into the season finale:
Richard Armitage, who plays Daniel Miller, CIA agent:
“There is a huge amount of confusion in Daniel’s mind as we approach the finale of the season. As a character he has survived with ‘clipped wings’, largely an observer unable to act upon his instincts. But as the final layers of the story unfold to reveal the master plan, Daniel is finally able to take control and actively participate in something he should have had a tight grip on from the outset, the inertia he has felt is finally released and he can make choices and decisions to salvage what’s left of his own credibility and that of the CIA station he was tasked to serve. This is not the mission he thought it would be.”
Leland Orser, who plays Robert Kirsch, Deputy Chief of the CIA station at Berlin:
“Robert fends off hostile forces from multiple directions, balances a precarious relationship with Mossad, carries the weight of Berlin Station on his shoulders and yet still remains utterly powerless to do the one thing in the world that matters most to him, to get to his son.”
Michelle Forbes, who plays Valerie Edwards, CIA Berlin Station’s section head:
“We meet Valerie at the beginning of the story as everyone is deep in the middle of an earthquake of leaks. The aftershocks and ripple effects have left Berlin Station’s infrastructure in ruins. Valerie is left bereft in a web of betrayal and lies, coping with the death and loss of friends, colleagues and lover alike. But I have a feeling this chain of events will manifest in a more cunning, wily and resilient Valerie.”
Season 2 of Berlin Station is slated to begin filming soon. Enjoy an exclusive clip from the season finale below.
Berlin Station airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on EPIX.
