Throughout the first season of the Epix original series, Berlin Station, Hector DeJean (Rhys Ifans) has created chaos as “Thomas Shaw,” an infamous whistleblower who has exposed some of the CIA’s most closely guarded secrets while spying on his friend Daniel Miller (Richard Armitage), the man assigned to find Shaw and bring him down. After eight episodes, Daniel finally knows the truth about Hector and he helped stage an ethically dubious interogation in which Hector admitted to his crimes. Now that Daniel has Hector, can he bring him to justice?
That may be hard, considering that Hector’s lover, Julian (Sabin Tambrea) has already kidnapped Daniel’s cousin, Patricia Schwarz (Claudia Michelsen) to leverage Hector’s freedom. The ironic thing is that Hector wouldn’t approve of that move, even though he was already romancing Patricia as a way to get to Daniel.
In CraveOnline’s exclusive preview from this Sunday’s penultimate episode of the season, Daniel and Hector are both outraged by Julian’s actions, but it may still not be enough to save her life.
Here’s the description of this week’s episode from Epix:
“Having confirmed Hector’s (Rhys Ifans) identity as Shaw, Daniel (Richard Armitage) still faces various obstacles in turning him over to the Germans: assailants, a kidnapping, and his own conscience as he learns the Thomas Shaw origin story. Frost (Richard Jenkins) is still a fugitive, Kirsch (Leland Orser) is still trailing the rendition, and Valerie (Michelle Forbes) pursues her own suspicions about Robert’s loyalties.”
The ninth episode of Berlin Station will debut this Sunday, December 11 at 9pm, only on Epix!
