Thanks a lot Annette!
I probably wouldn't have thought of watching it if it hadn't been narrated by Richard, because I don't often watch animal documentaries. But I would have enjoyed it even with another narrator, I thought it was fascinating. Turkalo is a remarkbale woman, and her knowledge of the elephants is very impressive. An American researcher with whom she's collaborating said her knowledge is phenomenal, and he really hopes that he can "download" it all from her brain. I think it saddens him that all her expertise could be lost when she dies or becomes too old to remain in the jungle. Having watched the elephants almost every day for 20 years, she knows them intimately, and can recognise individual elephants that reappear in the Dzanga clearing after being gone for several years. She really does know more about forest elephants than anyone else in the world.
(Apologies for the English!)
